A health travel certificate is similar to a passport for pets, and is required by law before leaving the country. Pets must meet five requirements before one of our veterinarians can approve an International Health Certificate:
Traveling with your pet can be a great bonding experience with the right preparation and planning. To prevent travel delays, please read over specific USDA regulations for pet travel. Regulations vary depending on the country you are traveling to, and are oftentimes strict in regards to rabies vaccines, parasite control, microchips, and blood work.
Please be aware, most airlines require proof of Certificate of Veterinary Inspection at least 10 days before take-off. We strongly encourage pet owners to travel with pets in the passenger cabin if possible. They will be much safer and comfortable by your side. If this is not allowed, double-check that your pet will be in a pressurized area of the cargo hold. To minimize stress for your pet, book a direct flight.
